God has gifted us with the beauty of a New Year. What will you do with this gift? 2018 comes with all the
promises of God backed by His Word from heaven. God states that He has plans to bless the Body of
Christ and give us an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11). When I reminisce on this verse and the heavenly
promise that God is thinking of me and has plans to bless me above measure, I get excited. I know
that every good and perfect gift comes from the Father above and He has me on His mind. What a
wonderful thought to carry us throughout this year.
I believe God is calling the Body of Christ to shine brightly in the midst of the sea of darkness across
this land and country. I believe God is ready to bring His Church out of hibernation so that we might be
that city on a hill shining so brightly that He gets all the glory. His challenge to us was not to fall asleep
as do others, but to watch and be sober. (1 Thessalonians 5:6)
Here at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, we will prepare to meet this challenge. We resolve to learn and
live the Word so that God can use us in His service. We are committed to prepare ourselves for the next
level of service. Therefore, we shall operate from the theme in 2018 of “Preparing To Live In
The Overflow” -- … I am come that you might have life, and that you might have it more abundantly!
I take God at His Word. He said what He meant and meant what He said! Will you join Rev. JT and
me as we travel the road of 2018 with boundless joy and anticipation of the manifold blessing God has
coming our way? I encourage you to come on board whole-heartedly. Let’s make 2018 the best year
yet in the history of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. To God be the Glory!!
In the Name of Jesus, Keep Looking Up!
